Why Interstellar Colonization Will Fail

“The Dream and The Reality”

Elon Musk’s dream for the future of colonizing Mars is such a tremendous goal that focuses on moving the entire human race to the red planet, a plan that has been plotted by scientists and dreamers for the past 50 years or so. It is such a hopeful endeavour that plans to take the human race to it’s first giant step across the cosmos, building a new human colony and settlement that will give humans a chance to start a new life in other planets, but it is a dream that is undoubtedly doomed from the very start of it’s conception. Why? Well, isn’t it obvious that humans can not exist beyond the boundaries of planet Earth? The lack of the most fundamental elements that support any type of biological life can only be found here on our planet and nowhere else, especially not on Mars and beyond.

Do you really believe that colonizing other planets will be that easy? Even if we had a far superior technology, we will still have a slim chance of actually being able to exist on a planet that does not want us for a lack of a better word, we impose our selves against the natural course of nature and the laws of thermodynamics, no sustainable environment that could support life. And even if we do manage to pull off some menial means of being able to sustain ourselves in such a hostile environment, we will all be relying on our own faulty technology to enable us to survive on a planet that does not allow life to propagate. In short, this dream of interstellar colonization is doomed from the start, and that is just one fraction of a part of a more elaborate reason of why planetary colonization will fail outright.

Human ingenuity breaks down, not to say that we have no faith in man-made technology, but the truth is technology will falter from time to time and relying on a technology that has a big chance of breaking down is like jumping off an air plane without a parachute, it is in no  doubt suicidal! Elon Musk’s dream is so bold and imaginative that most people think that it is the right step forward in taking on the issue of human survival to a new level, grandiose and superficial. And if you think that mathematics and astrophysical calculations have covered every aspect of everything that might go wrong in this bold dream of colonizing Mars, you have another thing coming. Even if the technology used in this plan of colonization does manage to bring the first humans on the red planet, there are a lot more serious aspects of this dream that can pull the plug from this entire mission, even before the first SpaceX rocket can even make it’s way across the stars. Dreaming a fantasy and hoping that it will come true is one thing, but forcing yourself to believe that it will succeed is detrimental that it only pushes the boundaries of your inhibition from reality to the point of disillusion.

“Only Human”

There are a lot of aspects of human behaviour that we try to turn a blind eye on, a sort of self-denial of our real behaviour as a primate specie. Humans are very comfortable when they know that there is nothing that is a threat for them, either that be predatory animals or even other humans that they come across that may or may not dislodge them from their current state of comfort. Human beings are always on threat by their fellow human beings, and if this is not enough reason why interstellar colonization is doomed at the start, let us elaborate more on the flaws of innate human behaviour.

People are comfortable knowing that they are secured and see no reason of becoming anxious for no apparent reason whatsoever. We are the kind of species that need to have a comforting thought to enable us to think rationally. If you would put people in a situation in where they know that there is a chance of them that they will die in undertaking a certain task, in this case flying off to a 15 million mile distance, on a planet in which even a flea won’t be able to survive and expect them to be in total control of their mental faculties, well you have another thing coming.

People develop doubts inside their mind when they realize that they are being committed to a situation that they know that the odds are piling up against them, in this case the void of infinite space and the lack of breathable oxygen should be more than a good reason to stay in bed and watch SpaceX launch off without you. Okay, maybe we are just a little bit pessimistic about this whole “Mission to Mars” shenanigan, given the possibilities of them being able to cope with the immense amount of radiation that the entire crew will be encountering as they try to navigate their way out of the Van Allen radiation belt, provided that their brains aren’t fried and that they survive the effects of space dementia due to their inability to comprehend the infinite void that lays in front of them, added to the effects of zero gravity that will weaken their skeletal muscles that will result in muscular entropy.

And if that does not get them, I’m sure paranoia and psychological neurosis and psychosis will just tear them apart from each other, making them hate each other in mid flight, heck they may even try to blow up their ship  long before it even gets a chance to land on the Martian surface! So before we even start to assume that the entire dream of colonizing space will enable us to give the human race a new chance of continuing life in other planets, we can start by confronting our own evil, primal nature and stop bickering with one another here on Earth, even before we take our indifferences elsewhere, particularly on another planet, because we all know how bad we fouled up this one, beyond repair and to think that we are going to bring the same problems to other planets simply is mind boggling that I wish a gigantic meteorite collides with Earth now, so that other planets are left in peace.

Education, Technology and Money: The Essence Of Socio-Economic Exsistence

Education: Society's Overrated Conception of Assurance and Security

Social indoctrination starts with education, as we grow up, we are taught to obey and follow the rules of society and to abide by it in order to have complete social integration with the present standards of social acceptance. We were given the impression that education was integral as the building principal for our development as a society, creating jobs, technology and all sorts of reliable values that we can hold on to as a society. Culture, arts entertainment and leisure are all created by us to fill the void of inadequacy and sometimes, boredom.
Education is integral in regards to acquiring knowledge to further improve our existence as human beings but it does veer away form our divine natural aspects in regards to our humanity. As organisms, our sole purpose is to live, breed and eventually die and it is purely based on our natural role in the ecology of life. Nothing can be further from this truth despite of our want to expand our consciousness of our existence and purpose. Propagation is built in our genes, as it explains our love for life and avoid every possibility of falling into the misery of the obvious truth that we can only do as much to keep our self respect and finding ways of trying to find a purpose for our role in life.

Education only serves its purpose only to a point of usability and once you have passed your usability in this human society, you are then shoved aside. Brilliant minds that have contributed so much in the development of our society states that our existence is nothing more than a transient state of longing for purpose.
Doctors, lawyers, engineers and scientists, all fall prey to the inevitable end of growing old. I once knew a brilliant lawyer who I had the pleasure to know, who was so full of inspiration to all of his colleagues as he was well known to his circle of profession. Years later, he fell to the decay of Alzheimer's disease that debilitated his mental state and eventually rendering him in a child like state, defecating in his adult diaper. Education's tangibility can not be seen here as age and the truth of our human existence is much more obvious in the way nature slaps us in the face with the truth. Consider education as a passing trend for younger generations that are so defiant and complacent with their abilities to manipulate their fate, relying on what they think can give assurance on their place in human society.

Technology: Humanity's Garbage Heap

Do we really need all these technology? And for what? In the past 20 years or more, we had seen the rise of technology integrated to our needs as a society, but the big question is, do we really need all of this? The nature of man to constantly create for his own purpose of social existence has somewhat gone far beyond the natural necessity of life. Technology for the purpose of improving the overall quality of life is one thing but to continue to develop consumer products and put a suggestive social mentality of it as a need is quite different and alarming. Obvious hazards such as dwindling natural resources are becoming a global issue accompanied by the ecological impact that is changing the natural biology of the environment in regards to mass production and pollution.

The rampant campaign of conglomerates that manufacture such products and promote it as an added necessity for human life is a crime in itself as it promotes a distorted mind set for society to believe. Lithium ion batteries utilized for such consumer goods are as comparatively dangerous as a leaking nuclear power plant. The disposal of such toxic industrial debris are a rising threat to our ecology, considering lithium is a lethal compound. The production of plastic products has also reached alarming rates as plastic s are one of the products that contribute to the rising global temperatures involving global warming. China is one of the world's highest users of fossil fuels next to the United States, as all global manufacturing, consisting of 80% of all manufactured goods are now made in China. Plastics are mostly non biodegradable and will continue to mount as an additional clutter to our global garbage woes.
The unnecessary continued development of existing products that are solely for the purpose of profitability by these conglomerates can be considered as an unnecessary evil that contributes to the problems that humanity is facing but is collectively being ignored as it posses as a necessity for the improvement of life all around us without really realizing the actual implicated problems that goes along with the continued adherence to these certain principles.

Money: The Evil that Men Do
Does money really have worth? Do you honestly believe all that your teacher in economics class tell you of money's tangibility? Money is a piece of paper with a printed face of a person or animal or even a plant, that has a unique serial number to prove it's individual credibility. What is funny though, is that a government can control the worth of a certain currency as if it was just play money. If you really put your common sense thinking, money is just a piece of paper, and that is all it is actually. The whole damn world is controlled with the monetary system and no nation on Earth can conform properly without a controlled monetary system. Money is control and control is social inhibition which boils down to one point...money is slavery. You work hard your entire life just to save for a decent, respectable funeral. Money is actually a pointless aspect of life and as children, we were brain washed to accept that it is a need in life.
The social mentality goes with this pointless thought that money is life, and in some perspective, money is God. We are truly a doomed society that embraces this concept of the truth to which many of us succumb quite easily to the notion of money as a life saving aspect of our existence. Most of us might have forgotten the simple saying that goes, “The best things in life are free”, as social corruption induced by conglomerates and governments, work hand and hand to control our thoughts and points of view. We have all fallen to the mercy of this life as we find social conveniences to protect us from our fears, generated by governments to follow their policies or else face the dire consequences of being termed as social inconveniences or outcasts from human society. The convenience of electricity, communications, health care, food and education are all forced upon as as a necessity to overcome these fears of inadequacy.
But the truth catches up on us as the obvious subjugation of this society back fires on itself. Governments are starting to feel the economic collapse as they slowly run out of ways to play the sentiments of the people that they are supposedly to serve the interest of its citizens. Global economy is starting to eat itself up as the collapse starts to affect everyone on this Earth. It is all just a matter of time as nations will start to steal from one another in regards to natural resources, especially the source of food supply. Expect wars to break out because of this as we nervously wait for the evident fall of human society with its stupidity.

Man Made Technology and it's Origin from Nature

Our World today is changing fast beyond our our wildest dreams. We have reached new heights on the level of Science and Technology with an astonishing pace. We owe it all to our selves for attaining such marvelous achievements in regards to improving the Society that we had founded since the time that we learn to make use of fire.

For the past 100 years, we had seen how drastically we had sought to improve every aspect of human life around us. We have created magnificent edifices that culminate our glorious exuberance. We went faster than the speed of sound, have escaped the clutches of gravity and have ultimately reached the fringe stellar boundaries of the Moon itself! It seems that the possibilities are endless.

We always had, as a specie, an amazing way to overcome all sorts of adversities that stand in the way of our progress beyond our limitation and capacity to which through able thinking, could always devise ways and means in dealing such obstacles. The Human mind is such a fascinating mystery as it can conjure solutions as instinctively as to adapt to its environment and when put in a position to make decisions in regards to survival and self preservation, the Human mind is the only reason that we have gotten this far in regards to our evolution as a specie.

We, among all of the other species that thrive on this Earth, are the only ones that are endowed with the ability to think beyond our primal instinct and from this ability we had created technology that is way too far to be conceived and achieved by other similar groups of species. We are categorized as belonging to the family of “The Great Apes”. Included in this family are the Gorilla, the Orangutans, the Chimpanzee and us, the Human beings.

Within this group, we share 90 percent of all anatomical and behavioral characteristics that just goes to prove that we are indeed related to each other, although for centuries now, scientists are still trying to find a common denominator to link our distant relatives with a genetically evolutionary explanation which up to this day has no definite acceptable answer. We might have evolved differently from our Ape relatives in terms of anatomy but we differ with our way of thinking and intellect.

Man had ascended on top of the hierarchy of being the most predominant creature on this Earth, not because of a superb physiological ability to adapt to its environment but because of his ability to create a system in which he can maintain a indefinite place in the cycle of life through the technology that he created for himself and for no other reason beyond that. Despite of this Man still remains as fragile as the day he started to learn to walk upright on his own two feet.

True to the sense that we, as a species, have developed means of defying the numerous laws of nature and its many facets. Still, we have many things that even our technology can not resolve including the adept intuition of occurrences that most animals have a keen sense of knowing it. It may be irrelevant at this point to concede to complacency and rely solely to the knowledge that we posses that had preserved our way of life on this planet.

Most animals on the other hand have a strong sense of intuition that has helped them survive most of the time through natural genetic instincts. A good example for this are the aviary species of Birds that migrate across vast distances due to the changing of the seasons in order to escape the clutches of a frigid death bought on by the onset of Winter. What is really amazing is the manner in how they migrate to more temperate climates in order to maintain the survivability of their species, specifically considering on how the manage to navigate long distances and not getting lost without using any form of visual markings but instead only using the magnetic field of the Earth!

There are also other species of animals that can detect natural impending dangers such as storms or earthquakes even before they occur. Others, such as Bears, can sleep through a long winter through hibernation which helps them survive the icy cold winter and emerge thereafter. Thinking of this, one can not help but wonder if we as Human beings are truly the most predominant in all of creation? Man made technology is not in any way “unnatural” with the way of Nature! Impossible you say? I beg to differ.

Everything in the realm of Nature is natural by origin including the technology that we brought on to this world, why you ask? Simply put that Man has evolved from Nature itself and obviously all things that have come from nature are natural in origin, including the technology that we made for our selves. It was natural for us to evolve out from our primal beginnings and was only natural to develop technology for our own survival, hence, Man made technology is a natural occurrence in Nature.

“If this concept of Natural Technological Evolution is true, then why is the whole World going out of control because of us?'

Good point! There was a point in our evolution and conception of how we should define the use of the technology that we created to help ourselves live our lives to the best of what we can do for the most of what we can do for each others benefit, however, in the midst of our haste in developing beneficial technology for general use, we accidentally stumbled upon the dark side of the technology that we created.

Atomic energy and Synthetic chemical compounds are just a few things that were accidentally discovered that in the first early concept of its infancy were thought to bring about a drastic change to our lives for the better. Unfortunately, we misused these as weapons that eventually became an eminent threat for our survival as a species. Sad to think that the same technology that we created could possibly be the last and ultimate reason for our demise!

Though it is a frightening thought, there is still hope and it comes from those individuals who advocate a more peaceful and natural means to ensure our survival on this planet by means of quantifying deductible and logical reasons slowly changing to a more viable means of natural living. Advocates of Natural Healthy Living recommend that we should slow down in technological development because we already have much more than enough to support our society and any more added, sometimes non-essential technology could be the prime devastating factor that may destroy the social structure of our society.

It could be rightfully called “The Green Revolution”. Since its conception in the early 1960's people had been advocating this for too many a good reason because it will decide on our species survival for the next thousand years. This advocacy is about returning to the threshold of Nature and renew our point of view on how we would deal with all the technological mistakes that as of now are slowly emerging as a global problem.

We must have a clear mind in implementing this and a choice to abandon all unnecessary social conveniences which we had come to rely on. A first step is in the way we eat, which for some obvious reasons contribute as a general health problem in our society today. Our unmindful diet intake decides our health status and forgoing health condition and ample care should be put in mind while considering this.

The Dooms Day Clock
